About Run Eat Sleep

Run Eat Sleep is a local running and fitness community based in South Shields, founded by Luke Adams in 2012. What started as a way to help beginners take their first steps into running has grown into an award-winning fitness business โ€” built on passion, community, and a shared love for the outdoors.

Our mission has always been simple:

Who We Are

Weโ€™re proud to have created a welcoming, encouraging space where runners of all levels โ€” from complete beginners to ultra-distance athletes โ€” can feel part of something. Whether your goal is to get off the couch or complete your first marathon, weโ€™re here to help you get there, one run at a time.

We donโ€™t take ourselves too seriously โ€” but we do support each other, train with purpose, and have a lot of fun along the way.


Meet Luke

Luke is a dedicated local runner and qualified coach with a Sports & Exercise Development degree and over two decades of experience in road and trail running. Heโ€™s passionate about South Shields, the running community, and the power of movement to change lives.

๐Ÿ† Notable Achievements:

Winner of the Kielder Half Marathon, Pier to Pier, and Sanddancer 10K

Personal bests: 15 mins (5K) | 32 mins (10K) | 70 mins (Half Marathon / GREAT NORTH RUN)

Completed the Bob Graham Round โ€“ 66 miles, 42 peaks in under 24 hours

Luke has also been recognised by England Athletics and local organisations for his contributions to coaching and community running events.

In 2024, Run Eat Sleep was proud to receive the Love South Tyneside Award for outstanding community spirit and positive impact across the region.


What We Offer

We welcome all levels of ability, from beginners to seasoned runners. All we ask is that you bring a positive attitude, a willingness to learn, and a spirit of community.
