Run Eat Sleep is a local running & fitness club in South Shields which was set up by Luke Adams in 2011.
Luke is a local lad and is passionate about South Shields, the outdoors, running & fitness. He has a wealth of experience in trail, road & cross country running with personal bests of 15 mins for 5km, 32 mins for 10k & 70 mins for half marathon & the Great North Run.
“The aim was to help beginners get started with running & to build a community that would share the benefits and enjoyment that regular running brings.
Since then it has developed into a successful fitness business, receiving regional awards for running coaching & running events from England Athletics. This has been down to lots of hard work & would not have been possible without the fantastic support & help of so many incredible people along the way.”
Luke believes in a long term approach to running, with the main focus on your enjoyment of running, first and foremost.
“Once you find the enjoyment from running, you can build your fitness from regular training and achieve whatever you set out to do.”
RES is also about the fun side of running. Although getting out for runs & training well is the main part of our service, socialising with everyone is what brings the community together. It’s all about supporting each other and not taking yourself too seriously.”
